The Lakewood Park Community Development District is a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended and established on October 19, 2020 and created by the City Commission of the City of Deland, Florida Ordinance No. 2020-25 for the purpose of constructing, and/or acquiring, maintaining and operating all or a portion of the public improvements and community facilities within the District.
The Lakewood Park CDD encompasses approximately 198.02 acres and is located entirely within the City of Deland, Florida, located east of S. Kepler Road (CR 4101), south of East New York Ave. (CR 44) and west of N. Summit Ave (CR 4139).
The District expects to finance, construct, install and maintain improvements of the District's facilities to benefit the lands within the District.
A Community Development District (CDD) provides the 'solution' to Florida's need to provide valuable community infrastructure generated by growth, ultimately without overburdening other governments and their taxpaying residents. CDDs represent a major advancement in Florida's effort to manage its growth effectively and efficiently. This allows a community to establish higher construction standards, meanwhile providing a long-term solution to the operation and maintenance of the community's facilities.
